There are many people who quietly feel behind in life.
Not because they lack ability.
But because the path they followed did not lead where they were told it would.
I write for them.

A Life That Did not Follow a Straight Path
For over 20 years, I stood at the front of college classrooms teaching, guiding, and learning alongside students from all walks of life.
I taught Sociology, Leadership, Social Change and Entrepreneurship, and Communication. My goal was always the same:
But my own path was not as straightforward as it appeared.
Before finding my place in academia, I often found myself overqualified and underpaid, uncertain where my background and way of thinking truly fit.
Even within the system, I could see its limitations.

Over time, a pattern became clear.
Many capable, thoughtful individuals were quietly describing themselves as “behind”.
Not because they lacked intelligence.
Not because they had not tried.
But because their lives did not follow the structure they were given.
What looked like delay was often something else.
Something more complex.
Something more human.
A Turning Point
Eventually, I stepped away from the traditional academic path to build something more aligned with what I had come to understand.
Not another system.
Not another rigid pathway.
But a way of helping people learn from their lives directly.
To see their experiences not as disqualification, but as formation.

This work became the foundation for my book, Learning Outside the Classroom.
The idea is simple, but often overlooked:
Your life is already teaching you.
Every setback.
Every transition.
Every moment that didn’t go as planned.
The question is not whether you are learning.
It is whether you know how to understand what your life is teaching you.
If you want to explore this perspective more deeply, you can find it in my book, Learning Outside the Classroom→ Amazon
What I Believe
I believe that:
And most importantly: You are capable of moving forward with clarity.
A Personal Note
There was a moment in my own life when I questioned whether I was too late to begin again.
A professor told me something that stayed with me: You are not late. You are right on time.
That perspective changed how I understood my own path.
And it’s one I now offer to others.
The goal of my work is not to give you all the answers.
It is to help you see your life differently,
so you can move forward with clarity, not comparison.
Beyond the Book
If these ideas resonate with you, you are not alone.
I have created a space where these conversations continue:
A place for thoughtful reflection on growth, identity, and becoming, especially for adults navigating new levels of responsibility.
No hustle culture.
No pressure to perform.
Just grounded perspective and honest conversation.
